Open the right spreadsheet link on your phone

If a tap selects a cell, launches the wrong app or lands on a login screen, first work out which handoff stopped you. Keep the sheet row open, copy its actual hyperlink when possible and compare the final item with the option you meant to view.

That can be normal spreadsheet behaviour. Look for the viewer's link preview or open-link action after selecting the cell. The visible title may be only the link label; copying the cell text can give you a name instead of a usable address.

Before leaving, note the row number, item name and selected colour or version. If the sheet is wide, a screenshot of just the useful fields can preserve context without including your account details.

The wrong app opens

Use the link's open-in-browser option if your viewer offers one, or copy the destination into your usual browser. Controls vary by phone and viewer, so focus on the destination rather than looking for one universal menu name.

If you repeatedly land on an app homepage, compare the address you copied with the original hyperlink. A handoff can lose the item-specific part even though the app itself opens successfully. Do not keep signing in and out when the underlying problem is an incomplete destination.

You arrive at a login screen

First check the site's identity. A login page is not proof that the listing has disappeared. If you choose to sign in to a service you already use, return to the same saved link afterward and confirm that it opens the intended item.

A sheet publisher does not need your agent password, payment code or account recovery details. If an unfamiliar screen asks for those merely to reveal a row, close it and use spreadsheet safety checks.

The item opens, but something looks wrong

Check the seller, item title and option labels. A shared thumbnail may stay unchanged while the default selection switches to a different colour, size or package. Use the saved row note to reselect deliberately rather than assuming the handoff carried every choice.

Try the same complete link in a normal browser before concluding that the seller item is gone. If it fails there too, follow broken spreadsheet links to distinguish a wrapper problem from an unavailable listing.

Once the link works, save the functioning destination with the row context. Next time you will know both how to open it and which selection made it worth saving.
